The advanced light-duty battery is a versatile pack designed for flexible packaging and ease of integration.
- Applications: Light-duty trucks, off-highway equipment and other commercial applications
- Optimized density: Higher energy density and extended range compared to previous LFP battery technology
- Advanced design: Designed for narrow-body, low ground clearance chassis and allows for flexible mounting options
- Localized production: Battery cells will be manufactured in Mississippi by Amplify Cell Technologies, a joint venture between Accelera, Daimler Truck and PACCAR
- Long lifespan: Delivers over 4,000 charge cycles
Fully integrated powertrain
Accelera’s newest zero-emissions, medium-duty powertrain combines three key components into a single, optimized solution:
- Advanced LFP tiered platform batteries
- 14Xe eAxle
- Powers and Controls Accessory System (PCAS) 3.0
Accelera recently announced a partnership with Isuzu to supply the fully integrated battery-electric powertrain for its F-series medium-duty truck product lineup.
Innovative digital solutions
Two major advancements have been introduced to enhance operational and energy efficiency for battery-electric commercial vehicles:
- Over-the-air (OTA) software updates: Accelera's first fully hands-free software update solution is now available, reducing vehicle downtime and lowering maintenance costs. Initially offered for the school bus market, this cutting-edge technology ensures efficient software management for fleet operators and has the potential to be used in other battery-electric commercial vehicles in the future.
- Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging certification: Accelera recently achieved ISO15118-20 certification, enabling its products to deploy advanced V2G capabilities. This certification allows vehicles to draw power from the grid and return energy to it, promoting grid stability and energy efficiency. Accelera first introduced this technology for Blue Bird buses equipped with Accelera’s electric powertrain and BP97E batteries.
By introducing cutting-edge technologies, Accelera continues to deliver high-quality, domestically manufactured components. Our innovative solutions aim to enhance vehicle performance, maximize energy efficiency and provide flexible customization options for various applications. As Accelera expands partnerships and extends its range of digital features, it is paving the way for a cleaner, more sustainable future for commercial transportation.
